Pay Attention to What Your Thoughts & Body Are Trying To Tell You
Do you ever have that crippling fear that feels like it just shakes you to the core? I have. The crazy part about it is that it is not natural to my being. Most likely it isn’t for you, either. When this happens, you need to wake up and pay attention to what your thoughts and body are trying to tell you. What is out of alignment?
Before owning my own business, I can’t remember a time in my life where I had experienced that crippling fear.
Typically, I am easygoing and jovial. I love to laugh and see the glass as half full. Even having held a variety of positions in my life that have a high level of responsibility, I never questioned my abilities.
Yet, being a business owner has brought up new feelings and experiences that I have had to learn to deal with.
Wearing All Hats
I think any business owner can relate. There is a time when you are first starting out when you are working off the enthusiasm and excitement of taking the leap and going for your dreams.
Then the reality sets in that until you have more capacity, you are a one-man show, wearing all the hats even if they don’t all fit.
And when a hat doesn’t fit, where do you turn to ask questions? Man, can that feel isolating and scary.
You have to trust yourself at a level that you didn’t know was possible. Overcome the nagging fear of where the next paycheck will come from. Not take it personally (and with my creative job this is hard) when someone doesn’t select you or like what you provide them. Oh, and be visible, even when it’s the last thing you want to do.
All of these things I have experienced and learned to deal with.
While I am not perfect, I have found that my morning routine is essential to keeping me above the noisy chatter. These 5 essential components of my day, clear my head and keep me out of the anxiety
